Travel Diary: San Francisco

I know this post is long overdue, but ever since I got back I have been just catching up on work from events, to blog posts, and even planning casual lunch dates with friends. I have been keeping busy lately and wanted to make sure all those things came first before I sat down and write this post.

As you guys know a few weeks ago I took a spontaneous road trip with my best friend Steven. We came up with a thought that we both wanted to getaway for a few days and just explore another city. Since it was quite last minute we couldn’t actually plan an entire trip without paying an arm and a leg for it so we decided to take a road trip up to the Bay. I’ve driven a few times up to San Francisco myself, but for Steven it was his first time. We decided to put our idea into action and immediately booked am airbnb that same night and left for our trip the following week.

The trip wasn’t very well planned out. We both have a list of things we wanted to do, so we decided to agree on 5-10 places and build our itinerary around that area. Here is a recap of our trip! I will include where each location is and hopefully this will give you guys ideas on where to go next time your in San Francisco.

The first stop we made was Hearst Castle. Its one of the most visited places near San Luis Obispo and believe it or not but I’ve never heard of it. My friend has been wanting to come here for quite some time now so we decided to reserve 2 tickets so he’s able to check this off his list. He’s really into museums and exhibits so I did what every good friend would do and happily went with him (since he told me I would get good photos from here). I think I’m too easily convinced LOLS.

The castle was a beautiful place and I did learn some interesting facts about the owner and all the crazy parties he hosted there. It was a really good experience and since we were on a tour I was only able to get a few photos in. The weather wasn’t in the best condition that day so most of my photos were due to cloudy conditions.

Next stop was Big Sur and this place has been on my list since last year. Ever since I saw photos of this bridge I knew I wanted to come here to see it for myself. The view was really something and just sitting there looking at the view really put my mind at ease. I probably sat in this spot for over an hour thinking about my life and all the decisions I’ve made this year… The most peaceful place I have ever been and I can’t wait to come back.
Every time I come out to SF I make it a priority to stop by Mr. Holmes Bakery to hopefully try their famous cruffins. I’ve been here probably 3 times and I’m sad to say that I’ve never once woken up early enough for them. The bakery opens around 9 I believe and they usually sell out in a matter of minutes after opening every single day. I guess it wasn’t ment to be this time around…. Good thing they’re opening one in Los Angeles soon YAY!
The most famous houses in SF has to be The Painted Ladies. If you guys grew up in the 90s than you know that this house was in the intro to Full House sitcom. Its always crazy seeing places in real life that you grew up watching on television.
Some of the most famous tourist attracting in San Francisco has to be these places. Each one of these location has a great view and you obviously can’t leave the bay without stopping by one of these places. We decided to stop by all 3.
Since my friend is so into art exhibit I thought it would be cool to stop by the Pace Gallery to check out the exhibit together. This was probably one of the best ones we have ever been to. We had so much fun and loved that the exhibit was very interactive. If you guys are ever in SF I highly recommend you guys coming here!
This post ended up being a lot longer than I had planned but most of the photos were too good not to share with you guys. I think we did a lot within the 4 days that we were there and we enjoyed every bit of it. This trip was definitely one for the books and I can’t wait till our next adventure. We were actually planning on taking another trip soon and I stumbled upon a flash sale for flights to Seattle. We booked our flights right away and will be heading there in less than 2 weeks. So far I don’t have much planned out so if you guys have any recommendations please help me our by leaving a comment. Thanks in advance <3. Thanks for reading and talk to you guys soon!
