I’ve teamed up with Target on this post to help style 3 looks that I’ll most likely be rocking this Independence Day. I know during this time there are so many friends and family functions happening that sometimes worrying about what to wear is the last thing on your mind. Just like everyone else, I usually opt for anything patriotic with a giant American flag on it, but this year I thought I’d step up my fashion game just a little bit for Independence Day.
For my first look, I stuck with the red, white, and blue color scheme and went for a more sophisticated look but on the casual side. For my top, I went with a mock neckline that has the prettiest cutout embroidery. The top is flowy, so I wore some denim skinny jeans with them and did a half-tuck (this trick will help oversized shirts look more polished and flattering). I wore a matte lipstick with this look for my something red. For the shoes, I kept it neutral with brown heels and wore a straw boater hat to complete my look.

Who doesn’t love a cute midi dress? This dress is girly but still chic, and it’s perfect for a casual outdoor barbecue for Independence Day. The print on this dress is a pretty maroon color (which I love!), and since we’re sticking to the whole red, white, and blue color scheme, I thought this dress would be perfect for the occasion. The dress is simple yet effortless, and can be worn with either sandals (for a more comfy look) or cute wedges (if you want to be a little dressier). I added a boater straw hat to my look to tie it all together. My favorite part about this dress is the style. The dress has a collarless v-neckline, short sleeves that are elbow length, and a breezy tiered skirt that will help me hide my food baby since I plan on eating a lot.
For my last look, it’s a simple white bikini with some high-waisted shorts. Since Independence Day is all about pool parties and outdoor barbecues, I thought it would be only fitting that I show you what I usually wear to a pool party. I don’t like to overdo it with accessories or cover-ups, so I just keep it simple. I found a really cute and flattering bikini in white with some black stripes. I love that the top is slightly padded to give me that extra lift I need. The only cover-up that I like to wear is my denim shorts! You really can’t go wrong with a good pair of vintage high-waisted shorts. I then throw on my favorite aviators and some comfy sandals and I’m good to go.
